The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced 12,520 temporary job opportunities to support a nationwide voter registration exercise.
In a public notice dated February 25, 2026, the Commission said it will conduct a 30-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise at the ward level.
“The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will undertake a thirty (30)-day Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise at the ward level,” the statement read in part.
The Commission explained that the targeted exercise is intended to strengthen the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration currently taking place at constituency offices across the country.
To support the exercise, IEBC invited suitably qualified applicants to fill temporary positions for the duration of the ECVR period.
“To facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of this nationwide exercise, the Commission invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill temporary positions for the duration of the ECVR period,” the statement said.
Applications must be submitted online through the IEBC jobs portal by March 4, 2026.
The Commission stated that applicants must be Kenyan citizens and meet the minimum academic qualifications required for the respective positions. It also clarified that applicants must not have held elective office or served as a candidate or party agent within the last five years.
“Applicants must not have held office or stood for election as a candidate or party agent in the last five (5) years,” IEBC clarified.
Successful applicants will be required to present copies of their national identity cards, academic certificates and relevant testimonials. They will also undergo training and take an oath of secrecy before deployment.
Among the advertised roles is that of Voter Registration Clerk. Minimum qualifications include being a Kenyan citizen aged 19 years and above, holding at least a KCSE grade of C- (minus) or its equivalent, and possessing computer literacy and ICT skills. A diploma in ICT, statistics, education, business administration or a related field will be an added advantage. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate integrity, accountability and confidentiality.
