Laikipia University has announced the death of lecturer Dr. Philip Maina Mugo, who died in a road accident on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
In a statement released the same day, the university said Dr. Mugo served as a Lecturer in Psychology, Counselling and Education Foundations in the School of Education.
“Laikipia University regrets to formally announce the untimely passing of Dr. Philip Maina Mugo, PhD,” the statement read.
The institution conveyed its condolences to his family, colleagues, students, and the wider university community.
“On behalf of the University Council, Management Board and Senate, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, colleagues, students and the wider University fraternity. The University has lost a dedicated scholar and valued member of staff,” the statement added.
