Kenya Airways (KQ) has announced possible flight delays and schedule changes due to operational disruptions at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
In a statement issued on Monday, January 16, 2026, KQ said the delays follow the Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority’s implementation of contingency measures to ensure aviation safety and service continuity starting February 16, 2026.
The airline reported that current air traffic control operations at JKIA are causing delays for certain departures and arrivals.
“Passengers are advised to expect possible schedule adjustments, including delays,” the statement said.
KQ expressed regret for the inconvenience and assured customers that it is working closely with authorities and stakeholders to minimize disruptions while maintaining safe flight operations.
Travelers are urged to check their flight status before heading to the airport, monitor KQ’s official communication channels for updates, and explore rebooking options through the airline’s mobile app or website if necessary.
“Passengers are advised not to proceed to the airport without a confirmed flight status,” the airline emphasized.
