Actress Evangeline Lilly has provided an update on her ongoing recovery following a traumatic brain injury.
The 46-year-old Lost star took to Instagram on Sunday to explain how she is “restoring her brain health” with a personalized treatment plan.
“I have spent a lot of money getting evaluated and getting targeted, expert advice on how to heal my brain,” she said in a video, noting that “not everyone can afford to do this.” She emphasized that her approach is specific to her own needs and may not work for everyone. “I am not a doctor nor an authority on any of this,” she added.

“I consider myself one of the extremely fortunate people in this country who can take care of my body the way it needs to be taken care of without money getting in the way of that,” she acknowledged.
The injury dates back to May 2025, when Lilly fainted on a rocky beach, falling face-first into a boulder. She shared photos of her bruised and lacerated face at the time, revealing a dislodged front tooth and other injuries.
Earlier this year, Lilly disclosed that the fall had caused brain damage. “Verdict’s in… I do have brain damage from my traumatic brain injury. Comforting to know my cognitive decline isn’t just peri-menopause, discomforting to know what an uphill battle it will be to try to reverse the deficiencies,” she wrote on Instagram.

Following medical scans, Lilly said “almost every area in [her] brain is functioning at a decreased capacity.” She reiterated her gratitude for the support of fans: “Thank you all for always asking, for always caring, and for your continued prayers.”
The actress, who announced her retirement from acting in June 2024, continues to focus on recovery and sharing her journey to raise awareness about the challenges of traumatic brain injuries.
