Hollywood actor Mickey Rourke is appealing to the public for support as he faces the possibility of being evicted from his Los Angeles home after falling significantly behind on rent.
According to reports, the Sin City star has approved a crowdfunding campaign aimed at preventing his eviction, after reportedly accumulating nearly $60,000 in unpaid rent.
The GoFundMe campaign, titled “Support Mickey to Prevent Eviction,” was launched by Liya-Joelle Jones, a friend and member of Rourke’s management team. In the fundraising appeal, Jones urged fans to help the actor remain in his home, describing him as “raw, fearless, and utterly original,” and portraying his life story as one marked by risk, sacrifice and resilience.
“Mickey’s life never followed a safe or protected path,” the description reads. “At the height of his success, he stepped away from Hollywood in search of truth and authenticity, choosing risk over comfort.”
The statement also highlights the physical and emotional toll Rourke endured during his years as a professional boxer, noting that injuries and industry rejection were followed by prolonged financial and health struggles.
Jones confirmed that the fundraiser was created with Rourke’s full consent and is intended to cover urgent housing-related expenses, providing him with stability during what she described as an “extremely stressful time.”
“Mickey Rourke is an icon — but his trajectory is also a deeply human one,” the statement continued. “Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability.”

As of Monday morning, the campaign had raised nearly $54,000 of its $100,000 goal.

Court documents obtained by People show that Rourke was served with a three-day notice to pay $59,100 in back rent or vacate the property on December 18. The complaint, filed on December 29, states that the notice was posted at the residence and mailed to the actor after he was not home to receive it.
According to the filing, Rourke signed a lease in March 2025 with a monthly rent of $5,200, which was later increased to $7,000. The landlord, Eric Goldie, is also seeking attorney fees and termination of the lease agreement.
Following reports of the possible eviction, a source speaking to the Daily Mail claimed the 72-year-old actor is currently living “paycheck to paycheck,” despite still securing work in films and reality television.
“He’s rich poor, if that makes sense,” the source said. “He has opportunities to make significant money, but he spends it quickly and ends up back at square one.”
Rourke, best known for films such as 9½ Weeks, The Wrestler, and Sin City, has long been open about the turbulent nature of his career, which has included periods of immense fame, personal struggle, and reinvention.
