Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton have quietly expanded their family. The Loki star and The Marvels actress are now parents of two, Hiddleston revealed in a recent interview with GQ.
While reflecting on his sister’s recent experience of giving birth, Hiddleston, 44, described childbirth as “the most beautiful, profound, earth-shattering, life-altering” experience. He then casually shared that Ashton had welcomed their second child “the other day,” confirming the joyful news.
Subtle Hints Before the Announcement
Ashton, 41, appeared to hint at the baby’s arrival weeks earlier. In November, the Fresh Meat actress spoke about her “postpartum recovery” in an Instagram post that showed her visiting a baby bank run by @littlevillagehq, an organization that supports families in need.
“Today, I chose to mark a milestone in postpartum recovery with a trip to one of the baby banks,” Ashton wrote, adding that motherhood had deepened her reflections on children facing difficult living conditions around the world. She also reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for children affected by conflict and hardship.
The couple confirmed they were expecting their second child in a June interview with Vogue. Shortly after, Ashton made a public appearance showing her baby bump at the SXSW London premiere of Hiddleston’s film The Life of Chuck, where the actor is set to star.
Hiddleston and Ashton first met in 2019 while co-starring in the stage play Betrayal. Their relationship blossomed offstage, and three years later, they confirmed their engagement.
In October 2022, the couple welcomed their first child. True to their private nature, they have kept details about their children—including names and genders—out of the public eye.
