Taylor Swift became emotional as she reflected on the immense physical and emotional demands of her nearly two-year-long Eras Tour, admitting it was the biggest challenge of her career.
In a new preview of her upcoming Disney+ docuseries, The End of an Era, shared during an exclusive segment on Good Morning America, the 35-year-old pop superstar wiped away tears as she spoke about the scale of the historic global tour.
“This is the biggest challenge any of us has ever done,” Swift said. “We’ve done something no one has ever done.”
The singer described the pressure of continually evolving a production that was already more than three hours long, especially when she surprised fans by adding a new segment dedicated to The Tortured Poets Department midway through the tour.

“We had to be all hands on deck to put another era into the show,” she said.
Swift’s mother, Andrea Swift, also appeared in the preview, expressing awe at what her daughter and her team accomplished.
“Executing a tour of this size — it’s mind-boggling,” Andrea said. “How did we do it?”
The docuseries also highlights moments from behind the scenes and onstage, including Swift’s performances with Florence Welch and studio sessions where she re-recorded music alongside longtime collaborator Ed Sheeran.
One of Swift’s longtime dancers, Kameron Saunders, added a light-hearted moment by jokingly comparing the experience to a championship moment.
“This feels like my Super Bowl,” he said, in a nod that Swifties linked to her high-profile relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce. Saunders is the brother of NFL player Khalen Saunders, who previously played for the Chiefs alongside Kelce.
Swift announced the docuseries on October 13, explaining that she wanted to document the final stretch of what she called the most intense and important chapter of her life.
“It was the end of an era and we knew it,” Swift wrote at the time. “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of this tour, so we allowed filmmakers to capture it — including the final show in its entirety.”
The series also offers glimpses into Swift’s personal life, showing moments with Kelce as he traveled to support her concerts, as well as clips of Swift cheering him on during NFL games. Andrea Swift is heard praising the relationship, saying, “Travis Kelce… he brings a lot of happiness.”
The Eras Tour ran from March 2023 to December 2024 and became a global cultural phenomenon. During the tour, Swift released two new albums — The Tortured Poets Department and Life of a Showgirl — and completed major re-recordings including Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 (Taylor’s Version).
The first two episodes of The End of an Era will premiere worldwide on Disney+ on December 12.
