Prince William and Kate Middleton joined fans around the world in celebrating Robert Irwin’s big moment on Dancing With the Stars. The Prince and Princess of Wales left a warm message under Irwin’s Instagram post on Wednesday, writing, “Congratulations Robert and Witney!”
Irwin, 21, had shared a video of his emotional onstage celebration with his professional partner, Witney Carson, after they were crowned winners of the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.
The pair were lifted into the air by fellow cast members as the audience cheered, marking the end of a standout season.
“Dreams do come true 🤍,” Irwin captioned the video. The win follows an earlier surprise this season, when he received a personal good-luck message from Prince William.

The Season 34 finale, which aired Tuesday night, was a major milestone not only for Robert but for the Irwin family as a whole. His victory comes exactly ten years after his sister, Bindi Irwin, won the competition with Derek Hough. Speaking after the show, Robert said that achieving the same accomplishment as his sister meant “everything” to him and described the experience as life-changing.
He also reflected on how Bindi’s win had helped shine a spotlight on their family’s conservation work through the Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors. For Robert, carrying that message forward added deeper meaning to his own Mirrorball moment.

His triumph was even more noteworthy given that he had suffered a rib injury during rehearsals earlier in the season.
Despite the setback, he continued performing and ultimately secured the top spot in one of the show’s most competitive finales. Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy finished as runners-up, followed by Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, and Elaine Hendrix and Alan Bersten.
