“Vanderpump Rules” is officially stepping into a brand-new era as the hit Bravo series returns for its twelfth season on December 2.
According to Lisa Vanderpump, the upcoming installment will feel like a complete reinvention of the show, featuring an entirely fresh cast while still capturing the essence of what made fans fall in love with the series more than a decade ago.
While viewers will still get a taste of nostalgia through the familiar backdrop of SUR and the dynamic restaurant atmosphere, Vanderpump makes it clear that this season stands firmly on its own.
The longtime reality star and restaurateur explains that although she remains the anchor of the show, the energy and relationships within the new cast set the tone for an entirely different viewing experience.
She notes that the world has changed significantly since the show premiered in 2013, and the new generation—largely Gen Z—brings a different perspective, attitude and lifestyle.
Season 12 promises to re-embrace the youthful chaos, humor and spontaneity that characterized the early days of the series, but with a modern twist that reflects today’s culture.
The cast shakeup comes months after the conclusion of season 11, which featured original stars like Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix, Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, Lala Kent and James Kennedy.
Vanderpump emphasizes that the show wasn’t trying to replicate its old formula but instead move forward with a renewed approach and fresh faces.
The new stars—Venus Binkley, Jason Cohen, Shayne Davis, Chris Hahn, Angelica Jensen, Marcus Johnson, Audrey Lingle, Natalie Maguire, Demy Selem and Kim Suarez—are described as fun, vibrant and deeply connected.
Most have been part of the SUR family for years, meaning the relationships, tensions and friendships are already real and well-established.
Even Chris Hahn, the only cast member with previous reality TV experience, admits that nothing could prepare him for how fully transparent the show requires its stars to be.
Other cast members agree that the experience quickly became natural, with some even forgetting they were being filmed.
Their stories, filled with personal growth, complicated relationships and their own brand of messiness, promise to deliver the authenticity and entertainment fans expect.
With its mix of new personalities, real-life drama and the lively atmosphere of West Hollywood, season 12 signals an exciting new chapter for the franchise.
“Vanderpump Rules” returns on December 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo, with next-day streaming available on Peacock.
