Kanye West delivered yet another headline-making moment during a spontaneous street interview in Tokyo, where he participated in a quick outfit breakdown and offered an unexpected response when asked about his biggest fashion regret.
In a clip shared by Mystery Fashionist, Ye was asked to rate his look of the day. “Oh, it’s always a ten out of ten,” he said confidently. He went on to highlight his ensemble: “I got the original Yeezy 950 boots on. You know, Gosha did the pop-up today, so the rest of it’s all Gosha.”
But when pressed on which fashion trend he most regrets taking part in, the rapper paused before giving a dry, cryptic answer: “Life.”
The Tokyo sighting comes just weeks after Ye made a surprise appearance at Travis Scott’s show at the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa. Fans erupted when Ye walked onstage wearing a mask, then dramatically revealed his face before performing classics including “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” and “Through the Wire.”
Ye’s return to the spotlight has coincided with a surge in public activity. Earlier this month, he met with Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto in what he described as an effort to “take accountability” for his past antisemitic remarks. The rapper faced intense backlash in recent years, particularly after a 2022 interview with Alex Jones in which he praised Adolf Hitler.
His controversies continue to follow him abroad. Authorities in São Paulo recently warned that Ye could face arrest if he expresses pro-Nazi sentiments during his upcoming show there. The performance is scheduled for November 29, though the venue has yet to be announced.
Musically, Ye hasn’t released a solo album since Donda 2, though he partnered with Ty Dolla Sign last year on a pair of collaborative projects. His next album, Bully, is reportedly set for release before the end of the year — marking what could be his most significant return to music in several years.
