Jodie Foster is more in love than ever with her wife, photographer Alexandra Hedison.
The Oscar-winning actress — who turns 63 on Nov. 19, 2025 — has kept much of her personal life private, but her relationship with Hedison remains one of Hollywood’s most enduring and quietly cherished love stories.
The pair married in April 2014 after a year of dating, never announcing an engagement. At the time, a source told PEOPLE, “They are very private when they’re around people they don’t know, but when they’re together, it can be like they’re in their own world.”
In an interview with PEOPLE in October 2025, Foster opened up about how deeply connected they are creatively and personally. “We do a lot of chatting, but it’s usually about laughing about jokes or football or movies and things like that,” she said. “I think we’re both in awe of each other, so I like to hear what she’s doing.”
As Foster marks her 63rd birthday, here’s a look back at some of the couple’s sweetest moments over their 11 years of marriage:
In 2014, seven months before their private wedding, Foster and Hedison were spotted deep in conversation at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts inaugural gala in Beverly Hills. Shortly after tying the knot, they enjoyed a quiet date night at a Los Angeles gallery opening.
The pair appeared perfectly in sync at the 2016 Hammer Museum Gala, continuing to build a reputation as one of Hollywood’s most stylish and understated couples.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Hedison shared a rare selfie of the two wearing masks while quarantining together — a candid glimpse into their home life. And after Foster won her third Golden Globe for The Mauritanian during the at-home ceremony in 2021, the actress celebrated the win with a cozy kiss shared between the couple and their pup.
That same year, they shared another affectionate moment at the Cannes Film Festival, where Foster received an honorary Palme d’Or.
Foster later proudly supported Hedison at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival for the premiere of her documentary ALOK. The couple also walked the red carpet together at the 2024 Oscars, where Foster earned her fifth Academy Award nomination.
Just months later, the two celebrated another milestone when Foster cemented her hands and footprints outside the TCL Chinese Theatre, marking her extraordinary career — with Hedison by her side.
