NFL star Travis Kelce traded the big league spotlight for Friday night lights as he turned up at a Kansas high school football playoff game on Nov. 14.
The 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end was spotted on the sidelines during the quarterfinal showdown between Mill Valley High School and St. James Academy.
According to KSHB 41 reporter Matt Foster, Kelce attended the matchup to support his former Chiefs teammate Anthony Sherman, who now serves as an assistant coach for St. James Academy.
Kelce wasn’t the only familiar face in the crowd. Former Chiefs tight end Blake Bell also attended the game, standing beside Kelce as they cheered from the sidelines.
But despite the star-studded support, St. James Academy suffered a heartbreaking 41–38 loss to Mill Valley, The Kansas City Star reported.
Kelce, who played for Cleveland Heights High School in Ohio, has long been vocal about his love for high school football. Earlier this year, he made headlines when he trained with two high school players in Georgia during the NFL offseason. Among them was wide receiver Jazz Lewis — son of former NFL running back Jamal Lewis — who praised Kelce online, saying he “learned a lot from the Super Bowl legend.”

The Chiefs star has also been keeping busy off the field. During Kansas City’s bye week, Kelce enjoyed back-to-back date nights in New York City with fiancée Taylor Swift. The couple dined at The Polo Bar in matching dark outfits and later visited the exclusive club Zero Bond, where they were photographed hand-in-hand.
Kelce now shifts his focus back to football as the Chiefs prepare to face the Denver Broncos on Nov. 16.
