Tragedy struck the social media world on Thursday as Diana Areas, a widely-followed nutritionist and fitness influencer, passed away at the age of 39.
The Brazilian influencer, known for her health, workout, and nutrition content, had amassed over 200,000 Instagram followers who admired her dedication to fitness and balanced living.
According to local authorities, Diana was first found around 6:30 a.m. with injuries after falling from the top of a building in Campos dos Goytacazes, northeast of Rio de Janeiro.
She was initially taken to Hospital Ferreira Machado in moderate condition but reportedly left the medical facility without authorization and returned to her apartment complex. Her body was later discovered in a common area at the Unique Towers condominium.
A spokesperson for the hospital confirmed that Diana left the unit on her own. Her body was subsequently transferred to the Legal Medical Institute in Campos around 12:30 p.m., while the Civil Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Diana had built a devoted following online, sharing insights on healthy living and participating in numerous bodybuilding competitions.
Her final Instagram post, uploaded just five days before her death, has been flooded with tributes from fans. Comments poured in remembering her as a talented athlete, smart professional, and loving mother. One fan wrote, “I can’t believe you’re gone. Rest in peace, beautiful.” Another added, “She was not only beautiful and athletic, but also a super mom and incredibly smart!”
Her passing comes shortly after another tragedy shook the online food and fitness community. Influencer Michael Duarte, 36, was fatally shot by police in Castroville, Texas, on November 8 during a 911 call involving a man allegedly acting erratically with a knife. Law enforcement stated that Duarte approached officers in a threatening manner, ignoring repeated commands, and was struck by two shots after allegedly charging toward a deputy.
