Simone Biles Opens Up About Her Plastic Surgery: “It’s About Feeling Good and Being Honest”

Simone Biles is embracing honesty, confidence — and a little self-care.

The 28-year-old Olympic gymnastics legend spoke exclusively with PEOPLE about her decision to undergo several cosmetic procedures and why she’s choosing to speak candidly about them now.

“It’s just who I am,” Biles said. “I’ve always tried to be open, honest, and relatable.”

The seven-time Olympic gold medalist recently revealed in a lighthearted TikTok video that she’s had three plastic surgeries, teasing fans to guess which ones — while noting that two would be nearly impossible to spot.

Though she playfully hinted at a breast augmentation by dropping a cherries emoji, Biles confirmed she’d also undergone a lower blepharoplasty (to reduce hereditary under-eye bags) and earlobe repair surgery, after an old childhood injury caused a tear.

“I call it the ‘Biles eye bags,’” she joked. “It’s something my family has — totally hereditary. Every time I’d go to a shoot, they’d say, ‘Can we put strips under her eyes?’ And I’d say, ‘Oh, baby, I slept 12 hours — these aren’t going away!’ So it was something I wanted to fix for myself.”

As for her breast augmentation, Biles made it clear that her choice wasn’t rooted in insecurity. “Okay, obviously you can notice the breasts,” she laughed. “But it wasn’t because I didn’t like how I looked. It’s just about feeling good in your body — and loving yourself at every stage.”

Biles also recalled trying Botox for the first time on her 27th birthday — an experience she didn’t enjoy. “For me, it didn’t go well,” she admitted. “I had a floating eyebrow and everyone was asking what that was!”

The gymnastics superstar said her goal in sharing such details is to help normalize self-expression and empower young women to make choices without fear or shame.

“I think it’s important for young girls to know they have the right to their own choices — whatever they are,” she said. “Social media isn’t real, and that’s why I try to be as transparent as possible. You don’t have to do these things to fit in or seem perfect.”
