Blake Lively Wins Round in Legal Battle Linked to Justin Baldoni PR Scandal

Blake Lively has scored a legal victory in her ongoing feud tied to It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

On Wednesday, a judge ruled that a Texas court lacked jurisdiction over a defamation lawsuit filed against the actress by Jed Wallace, a crisis PR executive whose firm allegedly worked with Baldoni’s team, according to court documents.

Wallace — who owns Street Relations Inc. — had sued Lively earlier this year in Texas, claiming her public allegations cost him millions in lost business. The court’s latest decision effectively tosses out the case in that state, though it remains unclear whether Wallace intends to refile elsewhere.

The dispute stems from Lively’s own lawsuit filed in December 2024, in which the 38-year-old actress accused Baldoni of retaliating against her sexual harassment complaints by orchestrating a “digital smear campaign” to damage her reputation online. She alleged that Wallace and his company helped coordinate the effort through social media platforms, including Reddit — claims both Baldoni and Wallace have denied.

While the Texas court dismissed Lively’s claims against Wallace for lack of jurisdiction, the ruling left open the possibility that the A Simple Favor star could bring the case against him in Texas.

“We are grateful for the Court’s order today, making clear that the claims against Mr. Wallace never belonged in this court,” Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman said in a statement, adding that allegations of a coordinated smear effort are “unsupported.”

Meanwhile, Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni — which survived an early dismissal attempt — is set to head to trial in March 2026.

Baldoni, 41, previously filed a $400 million defamation suit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane, but that case was thrown out in June after a judge ruled that Lively’s allegations were legally protected.
