ASAP Relli Drops Assault Lawsuit Against ASAP Rocky, Says He’s “Ready to Move On” After Years of Turmoil

The long-running legal feud between ASAP Relli and ASAP Rocky has officially come to an end — at least in part. Relli, whose real name is Terrell Ephron, has dropped his assault lawsuit against the chart-topping rapper, bringing a close to the case over an alleged 2021 shooting.

Through his attorney Aaron Morris, Relli told Billboard that he’s ready to leave the ordeal behind and start fresh.

“At this point, he’s ready to simply move on from the shooting,” Morris said. “The ordeal has been a nightmare for him, and the statements calling him a ‘liar’ and worse effectively eliminated his chances of a career in the industry.”

The civil case was originally set to go to trial in January 2026, nearly a year after Rocky — whose real name is Rakim Mayers — was acquitted of criminal charges in February 2025. Relli had been seeking financial compensation but has now opted to withdraw the suit, with official court filings expected later this week.

However, Relli’s legal battles with the “Praise the Lord” rapper aren’t entirely over. He still plans to pursue a separate defamation lawsuit against Rocky and his lawyer Joe Tacopina, after the pair publicly described his shooting allegations as “extortion” and a “get-rich-quick scheme.”

“He’s going to litigate the defamation action because of the damages it caused,” Morris added. “But as to the shooting, he’s thankful he wasn’t hurt worse and is focusing on rebuilding his life.”

The dispute dates back to November 2021, when Relli claimed that Rocky fired a handgun at him outside a Hollywood hotel. Rocky denied the accusation, insisting the gun was a prop loaded with blanks.

In 2022, prosecutors charged Rocky with two counts of felony assault with a firearm, but a Los Angeles jury acquitted him after a high-profile trial. The rapper, who rejected a plea deal that could have carried up to 24 years in prison, maintained his innocence throughout.
