Tori Spelling is opening up about her split from Dean McDermott, saying their newly finalized divorce has remained surprisingly peaceful despite their long, complicated history.
Speaking on the Nov. 10 episode of her podcast misSPELLING, the Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 52, confirmed that the divorce was officially settled in late October — more than two years after she first filed in March 2024.
“I am officially divorced. It’s been quite a journey,” Spelling shared. “But I’ve got to say — this was one of the easiest divorces in Hollywood. Actually, forget Hollywood — one of the easiest ever.”
Spelling and McDermott, 58, were together for 20 years and married for 18, and share five children: Liam, 18, Stella, 17, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, 8. McDermott announced their separation in June 2023.

While the couple weathered their share of struggles during their marriage, Spelling emphasized that the separation itself has been drama-free.
“It’s so amicable,” she said. “We have no drama. This is a drama-free uncoupling and divorce.”
Spelling explained that the smooth process reflects both parents’ shared priority: their children. “It’s a testament to the two of us wanting to step up and be there for the five humans we made out of love,” she said. “We wanted to set a good example.”
The pair reached their settlement through mediation rather than going to court. “Dean and I came out of this divorce with a clean slate,” Spelling said. “Neither of us asked the other for anything.”
However, court documents filed Nov. 3 indicate that Spelling’s requests for spousal and child support have been ordered by the court.
Still, the actress insists their co-parenting relationship is stronger than ever.

“We get along better now than we did in our marriage,” she said. “We remain friends. We genuinely love and care about each other and our kids. There is nothing messy about it.”
Spelling added that McDermott will always be a meaningful part of her life. “Dean will always be one of my life partners in some form,” she said. “He’s my human, and I love him very much.”
McDermott has since moved on with girlfriend Lily Cao, whom he began dating in October 2023. Spelling has expressed support for his new relationship, saying she processed her grief over the marriage long before the divorce became public.
“My focus has been on the kids,” she said. “And making sure they feel safe and supported.”
