Blake Lively is alleging that a damaging smear campaign surrounding the release of It Ends With Us cost her more than $161 million in career and business losses, according to new legal filings.
The actress’ legal team claims the fallout from the controversy severely harmed her reputation, causing a sharp drop in earnings and derailing multiple ventures.
Variety reports that the breakdown includes $56.2 million in lost acting, producing, endorsements, and speaking opportunities; $49 million in losses tied to her haircare brand, Blake Brown; and $22 million in revenue losses from her beverage lines Betty Buzz and Betty Booze. Her team also estimates $34 million in “reputational damage.”
These figures were disclosed to the defense in July as part of her lawsuit filed on December 31, 2024.
Lively is currently embroiled in a heated legal battle with her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios. The actress has accused Baldoni of sexually harassing her during the film’s production — allegations he has strongly denied. She is also suing members of Baldoni’s publicity team, alleging they orchestrated a campaign to discredit her once the accusations surfaced. One claim, against PR consultant Jed Wallace, was dismissed earlier this year.
Baldoni responded with a $400 million countersuit accusing Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, of extortion and defamation. However, a judge dismissed the countersuit in June.

Last week, U.S. District Court Judge Lewis Liman confirmed that Baldoni and his co-plaintiffs had chosen not to amend their dismissed claim, effectively ending the countersuit. Lively has requested that her claim for legal fees remain active — a request the judge granted.
Baldoni’s attorney Andrew Freedman has said their decision not to amend was strategic, insisting they intend to preserve appeal options. He added that Baldoni’s camp remains “fully committed to pursuing the truth” as Lively’s lawsuit moves forward.
