Offset’s financial woes are mounting at the very moment his personal life is undergoing one of its most public upheavals. The Atlanta rapper is now facing more than $2.3 million in tax liens, according to filings obtained by Complex and reporting from Us Weekly, adding intense pressure as his divorce from Cardi B continues to unfold in both courtrooms and online.
Documents show that on October 15, the Internal Revenue Service filed a lien for $486,426.35 tied to Offset’s unpaid 2023 taxes. In a separate action, the IRS previously lodged a federal lien of $1,575,266.73 covering his 2022 tax bill.
The financial strain doesn’t end there. Earlier this year, the Georgia Department of Revenue filed its own claim, alleging that Offset failed to pay his 2021 state income taxes. The state’s filing listed a balance of $266,702.21 after adjustments and interest.

Together, the federal and state tax filings push Offset’s outstanding balance to over $2.3 million — a number that lands at a particularly delicate moment.
Offset and Cardi B married in 2017 and share three children, but the relationship has long played out under the public eye, with triumphs and crises unfolding in real time.
Cardi filed for divorce earlier this year, and since then, the split has taken on the tone of a legal and emotional showdown. In February, Offset requested joint custody and spousal support, and the matter has continued to evolve through court filings and public commentary.
Cardi recently took to X Spaces to claim that Offset was attempting to strain her financially as the divorce proceeded.

“The only way I can get out of my marriage is if I pay for somebody else’s taxes, even though I pay for my own, and give them one of my properties. I’m not, I’m fighting for that,” she said.
In early October, rumors began circulating that Cardi had agreed to a settlement that gave Offset 70 percent of shared property and assets, but neither side has publicly confirmed any such agreement.
While the personal and financial tensions continue, Offset has pressed ahead with his work. On Halloween, he released a surprise solo album titled Haunted By Fame, an 11-track project framed around darker, eerie sonic themes.
The album includes features from NBA YoungBoy, Lil Dump, and NoCap, underscoring Offset’s determination to keep his creative output steady despite mounting pressures.
