The United States space agency NASA has dismissed claims by reality TV star Kim Kardashian suggesting that the 1969 Moon landing was staged.
Kardashian made the comments in a recent episode of her show The Kardashians, where she told actress Sarah Paulson that she believed the historic Apollo 11 mission “didn’t happen.” In the episode, she referenced online posts and interviews that she claimed featured astronaut Buzz Aldrin questioning the event.
Following the broadcast, NASA’s acting administrator Sean Duffy responded on social media, directly addressing Kardashian’s remarks.

“Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before… six times!” he wrote, adding that NASA is currently preparing to return to the Moon under its Artemis program.
Kardashian later replied to Duffy’s post, shifting the conversation to ask about an interstellar object known as 3I/Atlas, which scientists believe could be one of the oldest comets ever observed. Duffy responded by inviting her to visit the Kennedy Space Center for an upcoming Artemis launch.
For more than 50 years, conspiracy theories claiming that the Apollo 11 Moon landing was staged have continued to circulate, especially on social media. However, space experts say there is overwhelming scientific evidence proving the mission was real.
“Every single argument claiming that NASA faked the Moon landings has been discredited,” the Institute of Physics noted in a recent statement.
Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong became the first humans to walk on the Moon on 20 July 1969, a moment widely regarded as one of the greatest achievements in human history.
