Rising American actress Isabelle Tate has died at the age of 23, with her family confirming that she passed away peacefully on October 19 from a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.
Tate’s passing was announced by her talent representatives at The McCray Agency on Thursday, October 23. In a statement shared on Instagram, the agency said, “She died peacefully, and her family requests privacy as they deal with this sudden and shocking loss.”
According to her obituary, Tate had recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and had just landed her first acting role in the upcoming series 9-1-1: Nashville.
The McCray Agency described her as a bright young talent full of promise. “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She had a wonderful time filming 9-1-1: Nashville and was so proud of her work,” the post read.
In the show’s pilot episode, Tate portrayed Julie, a wheelchair user attending a strip show when actor Hunter McVey’s character, Blue, interacts with her. McVey paid tribute to his late co-star in a statement to People, saying, “I didn’t know Isabelle prior to filming, but I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work with. She had such a great energy and brought joy to everyone around her.”

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease is a rare, progressive condition that affects the nerves, causing muscle weakness, loss of sensation, and difficulty with balance and walking, according to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA).
Tate’s agency encouraged fans and supporters to donate to the CMTA in her memory, noting, “In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Izzy’s memory be made at the same link.”
CMT disease has also affected several public figures, including country music legend Alan Jackson, who revealed his diagnosis in 2021 and announced plans to retire from performing by 2026.
