Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian has opened up about her marriage and divorce from rapper Kanye West, saying the years following their split have been filled with both relief and challenges.
Speaking on the season seven premiere of The Kardashians, Kim reflected on her seven-year marriage to West while on the set of All’s Fair, a new TV series she stars in alongside Glenn Close, Sarah Paulson, Naomi Watts, and Niecy Nash-Betts.
“I haven’t had psoriasis since I got divorced, and it just started coming back,” said the 45-year-old, revealing that the skin condition, which worsens under stress, has returned as she continues to navigate her relationship with her ex-husband.
Kim, who married West in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2021, admitted she has recently been feeling “pretty tested.” “I have psoriasis again,” she said. “I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect.”
In a confessional during the episode, the mother of four was asked what she thinks when she sees erratic behavior from West. “My poor kids,” she said. “Everyone around can handle it, but like, protect my babies.”

Kardashian said she is focused on shielding their children — North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6 — from public controversy involving their father. “They’re gonna grow up and see things,” she said. “So my job as a mom is to make sure that when that behavior is happening, they’re protected.”
Reflecting on her marriage and decision to divorce the rapper, Kim admitted she often felt trapped by her desire to help him. “I always felt like I had a bit of Stockholm syndrome,” she shared. “I always felt really bad and wanted to protect him. I would think to myself, ‘I should’ve stuck it out,’ or ‘I could’ve helped,’ but this was the first time I didn’t feel that responsibility personally.”
“It’s so sad,” she added, expressing sorrow over how their relationship has changed.
Kim also addressed public assumptions that she could easily move on from West. “That’s not my reality,” she said. “We have four kids together. It’s confusing because there’s all this talk online about me ‘keeping the kids.’ He’s never once called to ask to see them.”
“When it’s on Twitter that I’m keeping the kids, it’s not true and not rational,” she continued. “I just have to remind myself — it’s a divorce, not a kidnapping.”
