David Geffen Accused of Hiding True Wealth Amid Bitter Divorce Battle

Billionaire media mogul David Geffen is being accused by his estranged husband, David Andrew Armstrong — also known as Donovan Michaels — of concealing his true wealth to reduce spousal support payments in their ongoing divorce case.

According to new court filings, Armstrong claims Geffen has refused to submit his financial documents to the court, allegedly in an effort to avoid California’s financial disclosure laws and limit the amount of money he would have to pay in spousal support.

Armstrong compared their dispute to “a case of David and Goliath,” saying the massive financial gap between him and Geffen has made the process unfair. He argues that the billionaire is “prepared to win by any means necessary” and that he has been “unfairly outspent” throughout the proceedings.

The model and fitness trainer also alleges that Geffen financially controlled him for most of his adult life and insists he deserves full financial transparency to ensure a fair divorce settlement.

Financial Dispute Grows

Armstrong is also fighting back against Geffen’s request to receive credit for expenses he has already covered since their split earlier this year. Geffen’s legal team claims he has paid Armstrong $200,000 in cash, covered $15,000 per month in rent, and spent nearly another $200,000 on a rehab program for him. Geffen argues that these payments should count toward any future financial settlement.

Additionally, the 81-year-old billionaire claims Armstrong is still in possession of about $5 million worth of art, jewelry, and luxury watches that Geffen purchased during their relationship.

No Prenup, More Problems

The divorce, which has been described as high-conflict, is further complicated by the absence of a prenuptial agreement. The couple married in 2022 and separated in February this year, with Geffen officially filing for divorce in May.

Armstrong had previously filed a separate civil lawsuit accusing Geffen of using his personal trauma for “public image and personal gratification,” but he withdrew that case earlier this week.
