Pop superstar Taylor Swift recalled the chaotic — yet hilarious — moment when actress Zoë Kravitz accidentally destroyed part of her $25 million Beverly Hills mansion after losing a pet Burmese python in the house during the California wildfires.
Speaking on Late Night with Seth Meyers Wednesday night, Swift said she received a confusing phone call from her head of security about the bizarre incident.
“I just remember getting a call from my head of security trying to explain this story to me, and my first question was, ‘What snake?’” Swift said. “I was unaware of the presence of the snake.”
According to Swift, Kravitz and her mother, The Cosby Show star Lisa Bonet, were staying at her mansion after their home was devastated by wildfires when Kravitz’s pet snake, Orpheus, slithered into a wall and got stuck in one of the bathrooms.
Bonet was reportedly washing her face when she noticed the python disappear into a hole. The scene quickly turned into what Swift described as something out of a luxury commercial — involving “elite cheekbones,” an axe, and a “vintage antique cupboard.”
“This is the chicest thing I ever heard in my life,” Swift exclaimed. “This is a YSL ad and not a problem. It just sounds incredible, I’m sad I didn’t see it.”
The pop icon recounted that a man with an axe had to chop through the antique furniture to free the trapped reptile as Kravitz and Bonet held onto the slippery creature.
Three weeks later, once the home repairs were complete, Kravitz finally confessed to her friend.
“Hey, I’m just gonna tell you something that happened, now that it’s fixed,” Swift recalled Kravitz saying.
“You had a snake in the house and it got loose and it was in the wall and they had to get an axe,” Swift said she told her in disbelief.
Kravitz admitted she was upset the rescue mission had already been reported before she could explain. But Swift, laughing, said she couldn’t even be mad.
“Dude, I’ve been laughing about this for three weeks,” she said.
Promoting Her New Album
Swift, 35, is currently in the midst of promoting her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which dropped on October 3. Her whirlwind media tour has included appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Graham Norton Show, and various radio programs.
On Fallon’s show, the 14-time Grammy winner dazzled in a crystal-studded minidress while discussing her song “Wood,” which features steamy lyrics about her fiancé, NFL star Travis Kelce.
She also addressed rumors about turning down the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, clarifying that the decision wasn’t connected to Kelce.

“This has nothing to do with Travis; he would love for me to do it! I’m just too locked in,” she said.
Setting the Record Straight
Swift also debunked claims that she joked about beating her best friend Selena Gomez to the altar during Gomez’s wedding speech.
“I did make a speech, but I actually made a point not to mention anything about my engagement,” Swift explained. “I did do some light teasing about the way we used to dress in 2008 — the year we met.”
She added that the speech was focused on Gomez’s happiness and their long-standing friendship.
A Master of Easter Eggs
During a recent interview with Kiss FM, Swift revealed that her music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” contains more than 100 Easter eggs, teasing fans with subtle references and hidden messages — a hallmark of her artistry.
Speaking to Z100’s Elvis Duran, she also laughed off fan theories that she called “absolutely nothing close to reality.”
