Snoop Dogg Set to Attend Swansea vs Wrexham Derby After Investing in Welsh Club

American rap legend Snoop Dogg is expected to make his first-ever appearance at a Swansea City match during their much-anticipated derby clash with Wrexham in December. The 53-year-old music icon became a minority stakeholder in the Welsh football club in July, marking his official entry into the world of English football.

Snoop’s debut at the Swansea.com Stadium is set for December 19, when the Swans face off against Wrexham — a team co-owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who are known for attracting big-name guests to their games.

Since joining Swansea’s ownership team, Snoop Dogg has helped launch the club’s 2025–26 home kit, using his global fame to boost the club’s visibility. He now joins Croatian football legend and Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric, who also holds shares in the Championship side. Modric, currently playing for AC Milan at age 40, has yet to visit Wales due to his playing commitments in Italy.

Snoop, however, is carving out time to make the trip. A long-time sports fan, he has often been seen courtside at NBA games and even made an appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Swansea forward Liam Cullen confirmed the rapper’s upcoming visit while speaking to the BBC’s Feast of Football podcast.

“I’ve not seen him yet. I think he’s actually coming over for the Wrexham game. That’s what I’ve heard. So I’m looking forward to seeing him,” Cullen said.

Cullen added that having global celebrities like Snoop and Modric involved has brought new attention and expectations to the team.

“With new investors like Snoop Dogg and Luka Modric, there are more eyes on the club now. The higher expectations are good for us — it pushes us to perform better,” he said.

Snoop’s son, Cordell C. Broadus, has already represented the family, attending Swansea’s 1–1 draw against Watford on August 23 and visiting the players in the dressing room afterward. The rapper himself has hinted that he plans to give the team a motivational “pep talk” during his visit.

While fans are excited about Snoop’s involvement, some in the football community have urged him to keep his role off the pitch. Veteran Welsh coach Tony Pulis told BetVictor:

“Would I be pleased if someone like that came into a football club? Yeah, as long as they didn’t poke their nose in and start picking the team and tactics. Luka Modric is a wonderful man and an incredible player — having him involved is unbelievable. Snoop Dogg, I don’t even know what he sings!”

Under coach Alan Sheehan, Swansea have made a steady start to the 2025–26 Championship season, earning 12 points from nine matches. They currently sit three points off the playoff zone, with Wrexham just two points behind — setting the stage for a high-stakes and star-studded Welsh derby.
