Former First Lady Melania Trump made a striking appearance at the Naval Station Norfolk in Virginia on Sunday, sporting a look inspired by the classic film Top Gun.
Melania, 55, joined her husband, former President Donald Trump, for the “Salute to the Fleet” celebration, which marked the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy. She wore a brown leather bomber jacket over a crisp white collared shirt, paired with dark blue jeans and aviator sunglasses — a nod to Kelly McGillis’ iconic “Charlie” character from Top Gun. Completing the look, she donned a white baseball cap embroidered with “USA.”

The couple visited the USS George H. W. Bush aircraft carrier, where they interacted with sailors and watched a military demonstration before Donald Trump addressed an estimated crowd of 10,000 people.
During his speech, the former president criticized Democratic lawmakers over the ongoing government shutdown but assured troops their pay would not be affected. “We will get our service members every last penny. Don’t worry about it,” he said, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
Melania also took the stage, greeting the sailors with a cheerful “hooyah!” — which was echoed by the audience. She praised their courage and dedication in protecting the nation.
“Generations of sailors have kept America free because of your presence on the high seas,” she said. “Your strength, bravery and sacrifice inspire us all.”
Her stylish appearance comes just weeks after her high-profile trip to the United Kingdom, where she turned heads in a yellow off-shoulder Carolina Herrera gown during a dinner at Windsor Palace and matched fashionably with Kate Middleton in suede jackets during their royal engagement.
