Kidman, 57, attended amfAR’s charity auction in Dallas on Saturday night, supporting one of her long-standing causes — raising funds for AIDS research and HIV prevention. The Oscar-winning actress appeared on stage smiling and poised as she addressed attendees at the high-profile event.
Meanwhile, Urban, 56, was performing hundreds of miles away on the East Coast. He took the stage in Bristow, Virginia, as part of his ongoing High and Alive World Tour, where he entertained thousands of fans with his signature high-energy performance.
The couple’s separate public appearances come just months after news broke that they had separated. According to reports, Urban initiated the split, while Kidman wanted to make the marriage work. The pair have reportedly been living in separate homes in Nashville for several months. Sources close to the couple claim Urban may be experiencing a midlife crisis, though neither party has commented publicly on the matter.
Kidman and Urban married in 2006 and share two daughters — Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. As part of her divorce filing, Kidman has requested to be the primary residential parent.
A source close to the actress told PEOPLE that the separation had been weighing on Kidman. “She’s been stressed because she knew the separation would eventually become public and she was dreading it,” the source said. “But she’s surprisingly level-headed and calm. Now that it’s out, she’s just focused on what’s ahead and her girls.”
