Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his wife, Megan Kerrigan, appear to have moved past the controversy that followed the viral Coldplay kiss cam incident earlier this year.
Photos published this week by the Daily Mail showed the couple enjoying a beach walk and sharing a sunset picnic. The two, who are parents to two sons, were seen sitting in lounge chairs, dressed casually in sweaters, and snacking on light food and sodas. They were later spotted wearing their wedding rings and walking hand-in-hand during a morning stroll.
The sighting comes months after reports that Megan had stepped back from social media, dropped her married name from her accounts, and temporarily moved to the couple’s property in Maine after the scandal broke.
The controversy began in July when Byron and his then-colleague Kristin Cabot were caught on a kiss cam at a Coldplay concert in Boston. The video showed Byron with his arms around Cabot before the pair quickly pulled away from the camera. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even joked about the moment, calling it “either an affair or shyness.” The footage went viral the next day.
The incident sparked speculation of an affair, as both Byron and Cabot were married at the time. Cabot later filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, in August. Andrew later clarified through a spokesperson that their separation had already been underway before the concert.
Following the scandal, both Byron and Cabot resigned from their positions at Astronomer. However, sources close to Cabot have insisted that the two were simply friends and colleagues, though admitted the public display was inappropriate.
Despite the controversy, Byron and Megan now seem to be working on their marriage, with their latest public outing signaling that the couple remains united.
