Popular American streamer Kai Cenat has revealed that he once turned down a deal worth $60 million (about Sh 9.1 billion) because it involved promoting gambling.
Speaking during a recent conversation with gospel singer Kirk Franklin, Cenat said the offer came in 2023 during his first-ever “Mafiathon” streaming marathon.
“I learned that not all money is good money,” Cenat explained. “In 2023, I was offered like $60 million to do something I did not want to do, which is gambling and stuff like that. I didn’t want to take it because I knew it would mess me up and make me lose focus on what I’ve got going on right now.”
The 22-year-old content creator said that at the time, he already felt financially free, which made it easier for him to walk away from the deal.

“I said no. The first thing I did, I went to my closet and I just asked God. I said, ‘Listen. I’mma say no right now. I don’t wanna take the short-term. I wanna be able to take the long-term,’” he added.

Cenat also reflected on the wider gap between people with financial freedom and those struggling to make ends meet. He warned about the dangers of chasing money for its own sake.
“I don’t want all the money in the world. I don’t care to have all the money,” he said.
Over the weekend, Cenat reached another milestone by hitting one million subscribers on his streaming platform. Thanking fans, he said he began the year feeling “a little lost” but is now proud to have achieved his goal.
