Prince William Opens Up on Kate Middleton’s Cancer Battle

Prince William has admitted that his wife Kate Middleton’s cancer battle deeply affected him, calling 2024 the hardest year of his life.

Speaking on an upcoming episode of AppleTV+’s The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy, William said:
“I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had. You know, life is sent to test us as well and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”

The Prince of Wales, who has three young children, also spoke about how he prioritizes sleep as an important part of his life.

Kate Middleton revealed in March 2024 that she had been diagnosed with cancer and later underwent chemotherapy. In January, she shared on Instagram that she had gone into remission, thanking those who supported the couple during the difficult period.

“My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything,” the Princess of Wales wrote.

Even after treatment, Middleton acknowledged that recovery has been challenging.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually that’s not the case,” she said during a hospital visit in Colchester in July.

Now, Prince William and Kate, both 43, are planning a new beginning with their children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. The family is preparing to move into a new home later this year, according to Kensington Palace.
