Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has announced changes in the leadership of several public universities.
In a gazette notice dated September 5, 2025, Ogamba appointed Rosebella Namango as a member of the Council of Kenyatta University for a three-year term. At the same time, he revoked the appointments of Alice Waruguru Muita and Ibrahim Abdi Mude.
Muita has been moved to serve as a member of the Council of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, while Mude has been appointed to the Council of Machakos University, both for a three-year term.
The CS also appointed Amos Okello as a member of the Council of Egerton University and Bomet University College. In addition, Razoah Vitisia was named to the Councils of both the University of Eldoret and Tom Mboya University, while Issa Mohamed Ahmed was appointed to the Council of Tharaka University.
Ogamba further reappointed Nashon Edward Oluoch Nyona to continue serving as a member of the Council of Taita Taveta University.
