Antony Set To Leave Manchester United For Real Betis In €25 Million Deal

Manchester United forward Antony is set to leave Old Trafford, with Spanish club Real Betis agreeing on a €25 million (Sh3.7 billion) transfer for the Brazilian winger.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Betis, where he rediscovered his form by scoring nine goals and providing five assists in 26 appearances. His spell in Spain marked a major improvement compared to his time at United, where he managed just 12 goals in 96 games.

Antony joined Manchester United in 2022 from Ajax for £85 million (Sh12.7 billion), but he struggled to make an impact in the Premier League. Reports say he had grown disillusioned with football at Old Trafford, but his move to Betis helped reignite his passion for the game.

According to The Athletic, United have agreed to sell Antony at a huge financial loss, though they included a 50 per cent sell-on clause to benefit from any future transfer. The deal also contains an additional €3 million (Sh447 million) in potential bonuses.

Antony, who still had two years left on his United contract, is said to have accepted a significant pay cut to return to Betis, where he feels more confident and comfortable.
