Govt Advertises Vacancy For Hustler Fund CEO

The Hustler Fund, also known as Financial Inclusion Fund, through a public notice on April 1, 2025, has announced that it is seeking applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Hustler Fund is looking for dynamic, highly driven, and results-oriented individuals to lead the initiative in deepening financial inclusion in Kenya.

The CEO will report directly to the Fund’s Board and the Cabinet Secretary in the relevant ministry.

The role involves overseeing the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the Fund, managing resources, and working with the team to achieve the Fund’s goals.

The CEO will also be responsible for developing and implementing the Fund’s Strategic Plan and serve as the Administrator, Secretary to the Board, and Head of the Secretariat.

To qualify, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and meet the following qualifications: a first degree from a reputable accredited university in economics, accounting, finance, commerce, social science, or a related field; a Master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution; at least 15 years of relevant work experience, with 10 years in a senior management position; membership in a relevant professional body in Kenya (if applicable) and in good standing; leadership training from a recognized institution is an added advantage; proficiency in computer applications; demonstrated experience in digital financial services is a plus; and strong managerial, administrative, and professional competence.

“The successful candidate shall be engaged on a four (4) year contract renewable once subject to satisfactory performance. The remuneration attached to this position shall be determined in accordance with Section 5(3) of the State Corporation Act and the career Guidelines and other Human Resource instruments of the Fund,” the notice reads.

Interested candidates should submit a detailed CV, copies of academic and professional certificates, transcripts, National ID or Passport, and other relevant supporting documents. Scanned copies of these documents must be included in the online application.

Applications can be submitted in the following ways: Manual applications can be hand-delivered to the Financial Inclusion Fund Offices at the Kenya Institute of Business Training (KIBT) Building, 4th Floor, Ojijo Road, Parklands.

Online applications should be emailed in PDF format to vacancy@hustlerfund.go.ke.

Postal applications should be addressed to the Chairperson, Financial Inclusion Fund Advisory Board, KIBT Building, 4th Floor, P.O Box 30547-00100, Nairobi.

The deadline for submitting applications is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

In February 2025, President William Ruto appointed Habil Olaka, the former CEO of the Kenya Bankers Association, as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Hustler Fund. Olaka, appointed for a three-year term, took over from Irene Muthoni, who had served as the non-executive chair since January 2023.

The current Acting CEO of the Hustler Fund is Elizabeth N. Nkukuu.
