Lucia Ponti, granddaughter of legendary actress Sophia Loren, made a stunning appearance at the Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris on November 30, embodying the Hollywood glamour that runs in her family.
The 18-year-old donned a strapless striped gown by Giorgio Armani, a look shared by her mother, actress Sasha Alexander, on Instagram Stories.
The exclusive event, which raises funds for young women’s charities, honored Lucia and other young women from prominent families, including Apple Martin, daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, and Sophie Kodjoe, daughter of actors Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe.
Lucia, who is the daughter of Sophia and her late husband Carlo Ponti Sr.’s younger son, Edoardo Ponti, has clearly inherited her grandmother’s timeless sense of style.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, Lucia explained how her grandmother’s fashion philosophy continues to shape her own taste.
“My grandmother always believed in timeless elegance and the importance of wearing something that reflects your true self,” Lucia shared.
“She taught me the value of simplicity, tailoring, and always adding a touch of uniqueness to your outfit.”
The teen also revealed her close relationship with the 90-year-old Oscar-winning actress.
Despite the physical distance between them, with Lucia studying at Brown University in the U.S. and Sophia residing in Geneva, the two remain close, frequently visiting each other.
“I love her dearly,” Lucia said.
“We spend ample time together.”
Lucia admires Sophia not only for her style but also for her values. “I admire her dedication to her values,” Lucia added.
“She never forgoes her own authentic self to fit the expectations of others around her.”
With such a powerful role model in her life, Lucia feels both inspired and grateful for the lessons passed down through generations.
