Josh Allen is having a remarkable year, both on and off the field.
Following his victory against the San Francisco 49ers on December 1, the Buffalo Bills quarterback shared a heartwarming response when asked how it felt to take home the win while newly engaged to actress Hailee Steinfeld.
“Felt good,” Josh said during the post-game press conference. “Felt free.”
It was an eventful day for Allen, as he made history by becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to pass for, rush for, and catch a touchdown in a single game.
This record-breaking feat occurred alongside the Bills’ 49-17 victory over the 49ers.
Additionally, Allen set a new record for the most touchdowns in Bills’ franchise history, making his performance even more memorable.
Just a week prior to the game, the 28-year-old proposed to Hailee, 27, in a romantic setting by a flower-adorned arch with a breathtaking view of the ocean.
Despite the significant milestone in their relationship, Josh and Hailee have remained relatively private about their romance.
The NFL star had previously shared his surprise at the level of public interest in their relationship, especially when paparazzi went to great lengths to capture their moments together.
Speaking about their relationship’s privacy, Josh shared on the Pardon My Take podcast last August, “The fact anybody cares about that still blows my mind.
I just felt this gross feeling. The insecurity, no privacy. I was like, ‘What’s wrong with you?'”
While they may keep things low-key, Hailee has shared a sweet moment from their life together.
In October, she revealed in her newsletter that they had exchanged matching gifts last Christmas.
“I got this knife for Josh last year for Christmas because cooking is something we love to do together,” Hailee explained. In turn, Josh gifted her the same knife in a different color.
To ward off any bad omens, they exchanged quarters as part of an old wives’ tale, ensuring the gift didn’t signify the “severing” of their relationship.
As the couple embarks on this new chapter, it’s clear that their bond is strong—both in their personal life and in Josh’s remarkable career.
