King Of Dancehall Vybez Kartel Set To Perform In Kenya Next Year

Dancehall superstar Vybez Kartel, also known as “World Boss” by his passionate fanbase, has announced he will be performing in Kenya next year. The news, which has thrilled his Kenyan supporters, was revealed during an interview with the Brando Music Review show on YouTube on September 25, where the legendary artist shared his excitement about planning concerts across Africa.

Kartel, acknowledging the overwhelming support from his Kenyan fans, discussed a range of topics in the interview, including his close call with quitting music, the importance of artists owning their music, and his personal struggles while incarcerated.

Reflecting on his time behind bars, he described it as a challenging experience, stating, “It couldn’t be a good thing, but you have to make the good of a bad situation.”

As part of his African tour plans, Kartel confirmed that the tour would span across several countries and would likely take a month or two. “Next year, I will be there. You can’t do two shows and leave—you have to do a tour, you have to spend at least a month or two,” he assured his fans.

He specifically mentioned that Kenya holds a special place in his heart, saying, “The people of Kenya consider me one of their own.”

In a clip from the conversation, Kartel revealed that Kenya, Ghana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Rwanda, Nigeria, Congo, and Senegal are the countries he plans to prioritize for his tour.

The announcement comes after Kartel’s release from prison in July, a moment that was celebrated by fans worldwide, including in Kenya.

Many speculated that Kenya would be one of his top destinations for a concert, with fans tagging him on social media and expressing their anticipation.

Vybez Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was set free by a Court of Appeal after it unanimously decided not to order a retrial for his 2011 murder conviction. This significant legal victory led to his release and paved the way for his upcoming African tour.
