Otile Brown Defends New Rap Song

Swahili and R&B singer-songwriter Otile Brown recently ignited an online discussion after teasing his latest rap song. While the release sparked excitement, many fans were quick to express disappointment, suggesting that Otile should have stuck to his signature R&B style.

Unfazed by the criticism, Otile took to Instagram to respond. He emphasized that many of those criticizing the song hadn’t taken the time to fully grasp its message or appreciate it on a deeper level. He assured fans that he always holds himself to high standards when it comes to his music, making it clear that he would never release a subpar track.

“Sijawahi kutoa wimbo mbaya na haita wahi tokea. Nikitoa song na hujaipenda, ni wewe tu hujaielewa au pengine hujaipa nafasi. Ukweli naamini unaujua,” Otile wrote, implying that if a fan dislikes a song, they may not have understood or given it a fair chance.

To back up his confidence, the artist shared clips from his hits over the past two years, reminding fans of the consistent quality of his music. He clarified that his stance isn’t rooted in arrogance, but rather in a firm belief in his talent and the effort he puts into his craft.

“It’s not pride; it’s the belief and hard work. Can you bet your life on what you are doing? ‘Cause I can,” he concluded, standing by his artistic choices and unwavering confidence in his abilities.
