Felix Orinda, better known as DJ Evolve, continues to inspire with his remarkable progress in recovery, as seen in a heartwarming video that has captured the attention of many Kenyans. The video shows DJ Evolve making a trip from Nairobi to Nakuru to meet content creator Brian Muchiri, who also lives with a physical disability following an accident. Their meeting became a powerful symbol of resilience and hope.
New Experiences for DJ Evolve
In the video, DJ Evolve is seen interacting with Brian Muchiri, his close friend, while trying out new experiences. Kenyans were overjoyed to witness DJ Evolve speaking clearly and moving around in a wheelchair—signs of significant improvement in his health. His speech recovery, in particular, marked a major milestone, one that many had been praying for.
When asked about his thoughts while in the hospital, DJ Evolve shared his early fears. “Nilikuwa najiuliza ntawahi rudi kwangu nikiwa hospitalini…” he reflected, expressing the doubts that clouded his mind during the initial stages of his healing journey.
Discovering New Strengths
DJ Evolve also opened up about the surprising strengths he discovered in himself during the visit. One unforgettable moment was when he sat on the grass and held his neck up—something he hadn’t done since his injury in 2019. He also found he could support himself with his hands, another significant breakthrough.
Speaking to Brian, DJ Evolve expressed his joy in regaining these abilities, saying, “You’ve shown me there are ways to get up when you are down, and it’s a good thing.”
Their meeting was part of Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, which raises awareness about the challenges faced by those living with spinal cord injuries.
DJ Evolve’s Journey After the Shooting
Despite the obstacles he has faced since being shot in 2020, DJ Evolve has shown immense courage and perseverance. Reflecting on the night of the shooting, he shared, “God showed up for me, and He has been walking this journey with me ever since. I kept ignoring my alarm that night, but eventually, I had to go around 4 a.m. because I kept getting calls. I really didn’t want to go that night.”
With a message of hope, DJ Evolve added, “Nothing is promised; it is also impossible. Just keep going. We wouldn’t be having this conversation if it wasn’t for God.”
DJ Evolve’s story serves as a reminder that with faith, strength, and perseverance, even the most challenging journeys can lead to moments of triumph.
