Master P Urges Kendrick Lamar To Include Lil Wayne In Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show

Master P is calling on Kendrick Lamar to include Lil Wayne in his performance for next year’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show.

On Instagram, Master P congratulated Lamar on landing the halftime show gig, praising him as one of the hottest music artists today. He also voiced support for Lil Wayne, who is a native of New Orleans.

“Salute to @kendricklamar for performing at the halftime show at Super Bowl LIX… well deserved,” Master P wrote. “As Ambassador of Entertainment in the City of New Orleans, I have to agree with the fans that @liltunechi #LilWayne should be a part of this celebration as well.”

Master P emphasized the significance of including Lil Wayne, saying, “He’s one of the greatest Hip Hop artists alive, still relevant, and he’s a New Orleans native. Let’s not miss this cultural moment in the South. Life is too short! We have to give our legends their flowers while they are here.”

Earlier today, Kendrick Lamar confirmed he will perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show in New Orleans on February 9, 2025. In a social media teaser, Lamar hinted at addressing his ongoing feud with rapper Drake, saying, “Only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos.”

In a statement, Lamar underscored the impact of rap music, saying, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date, and I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Jay-Z, who is involved in organizing the show, praised Lamar as “a once-in-a-generation artist and performer” with a deep connection to hip-hop and culture. “Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come,” Jay-Z added.

While many are excited about Lamar’s performance, some fans are disappointed that Lil Wayne might not be included, especially since the Super Bowl will be held in his hometown. Fabian Marasciullo, Lil Wayne’s longtime engineer and friend, expressed his frustration on Instagram. “I was confused, disappointed, angry, but most of all, inspired,” he wrote. “Will never again be in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions.”
