Big Sean is closing out the workweek with new music.
On Thursday, August 15, the Detroit-raised rapper came through with “Together Forever,” his much anticipated single with The Alchemist. Sean started teasing the track nearly a month ago, around the time his alleged sixth studio album was leaked.
“I’mma just start droppin this new music before they leak it all,” he wrote in a July 17 Instagram, which included a clip of the “Together Forever” video.
The visual, directed by KittyNineGuns, showed the Detroit-born rapper in a grassy field alongside The Alchemist. It began with Sean reflecting on his mental state and how he maintains a positive outlook no matter what comes his way.
“I had to shake the little shit off, you know?” he said. “You shouldn’t wait for the world to come to you, you gotta get this shit, baby. Sun’s shining, breeze and shit. Take it all in because one day it could all…”
“Together Forever” arrives more than a year after Sean and The Alchemist connected on “Palisades, CA,” a standout track from the latter’s 2023 album, The Great Escape, with Larry June.
“Together Forever” is expected to land on Sean’s much-anticipated album Better Me Than You. The project was originally set to drop on August 9, but was pushed back for unknown reasons. The Twenty88 artist addressed the delay via Instagram: “I gotta push it just a lil bit. Music done but jus organizing listening events, shows etc. might need an extra week or 2 to plan,” he wrote.
