Shante Broadus recently appeared on Big Boy TV, revealing what caught her eye nearly four decades ago when she saw the man who would become her husband, Snoop Dogg.
“Tall, dark skin, and just being funny and cool, he was funny,” Broadus said of Snoop, describing him as the “clown and the rapper” when they attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School in California.
According to People, the two met as teenagers in high school in the mid-’80s, then attended prom together prior to graduating in 1989. They got married eight years later.
The couple, both 52, celebrated 27 years of marriage last month with matching pink-and-white ensembles.
Snoop told Today’s Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager last year that their love for each other is what has kept them together all these years.
“To have a family and to be who we are…we both wanted to get to that goal, and when we reached it, it was hard, definitely, because you got so many different things pulling you away from marriage, and people divorcing every other day,” he said. “But when you truly love somebody, there ain’t nothing you can do to break that up and I feel like that was true love at first sight.”

Like any marriage, they have their moments of conflict.
Shante said Snoop occasionally cops an attitude, but whenever that happens, Boss Lady already knows she has to “tell him to shut the hell up and keep it pushing.”
The two opened the strip club the Players Club, named after the 1998 movie of the same name, starring Ice Cube, in Los Angeles in May.
