Manchester City has confirmed the signing of Sávio Moreira, commonly known as Savinho.
The former Troyes player was signed for an initial fee of £21 million, with potential add-ons that could raise the final package to £33.6 million.
The Brazilian winger has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League champions, keeping him at the club until 2029.
In 2022, Savinho made a move to Europe, joining French club Troyes, which is part of the City Football Group network.
During his time at Troyes, he continued to develop his skills and adapt to European football, making a significant impact in Ligue 1 with his performances.
Despite his young age, he managed to secure a transfer to Manchester City, one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, highlighting his potential and the belief the club has in his abilities.
“It was impossible to turn down City! I’m so happy… we’ve got the best manager in the world,” Savinho said on his transfer.
His enthusiasm reflects his eagerness to work under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, widely regarded as one of the best managers in modern football.
Manchester City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain shared his confidence in the young winger.
“He has a big role to play for us this season and beyond. We are totally confident in his ability,” he said.
